Makalu Region is famous trekking and adventure destination in eastern Nepal. Mt Makalu (8,463m) is the fifth-highest mountain in the world and the fourth-highest mountain in Nepal. It is situated in the eastern part of Nepal on the border between Nepal and Tibet. Makalu Region has several other popular  Mountain peaks are Mt Baruntse (7,129m), Mt Chamlang (7,319m), and Mera Peak (6,658m) which are very popular climbing peaks in Nepal. It is situated in Makalu Barun National Park and was established in 1992.
